Building off Liam Kenny’s work during the summer of 2016 (check it out here if you haven’t yet), fall intern and Auxiliary Board member Ian Goller helped us further explore the feasibility of Biomass Briquettes to replace firewood.
We have so far discovered a few potential recipes, and confirmed that they do indeed burn. The next step was to see how well do they burn? and do they burn as well as firewood?
To find the answers, check out Ian’s report below. And for the math geeks, be sure to read the appendix, where we explain the formulas used to figure out how much heat the biobricks can create.
